The Borno State Government, Babagana Zulum yesterday said that more than on thousand houses will be demolished in Maiduguri, the state capital, following the effects of flooding in the state.

Zulum also said that provision of compensation has been made for the affected owners with buildings in the 500 housing unit estate built for flood victims set aside.

‘The houses submerged by the flood will be pull down by the state’s Geographic Information Service (BOGIS)’, the governor said.

While giving an outlook of the structures built on riverbanks and waterways, the governor said the master plan of Maiduguri metropolis, including Kere Council will be reviewed.
