Viewpoint Housing Media in its annual appraisal of the Nigerian housing industry, recognized some of the achievements and strides of key players in the real estate sector. They include the following fourteen:
Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko (President, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, REDAN)
Wamakko, is the 6th President of REDAN and under his leadership so far, the association has made some pioneering positive strides targeted at developing the country’s built industry. They include projects/schemes like the Rural Urban Housing Initiative (RUHI 774), aimed at constructing and providing basic housing infrastructures across local governments in the six geopolitical zones in the country, REDAN Regulation and Development Bill, recently passed by the Upper Chambers of the National Assembly which aims at standardizing the business of real estate development in the country.
Festus Adebayo (Seasoned Banker, Lawyer and Media Expert).
Festus Adebayo is the brain behind Fesadeb Communications Ltd, Housing Development Advocacy Network, Abuja international housing show, Africa Housing Awards, Housing Rights Initiative. Through his activities, he has successfully increase advocacy for affordable housing to an enviable height.
Ahmed Dangiwa (MD, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, FMBN).
Ahmed Dangiwa is an example of wisdom with over 30 years experience in the housing industry. Blessed with ideas on providing solutions to housing challenges, he has steered the affairs of FMBN by providing affordable housing to Nigerians through one of its pet project – rent to own.
Senator Gbenga Ashafa (MD, Federal Housing Authority).
Gbenga Ashafa is a former lawmaker at the Nigerian National Assembly. He took over the helms of affairs after being appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari and has since done remarkably well.
Femi Adewole (MD, Family Homes Funds)
Femi Adewole, a former Managing Director of pan-African housing institute, Shelter Afrique, is a housing finance professional and chartered architect with over 25 years experience leading housing initiatives across Sub Sahara Africa and the United Kingdom. Adewole an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School and Warwick Business School, has also served in some of the largest housing companies around the globe such as First World Communities Ltd, Watford Community Housing Trust, Notting Hill Housing Group, and Lagos HABITAT 2011 Project.
Young-Toby Ekechi (First Generation Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, FGMB).
Young-Toby Ekechi led the FGMB to emerge best indigenous mortgage bank in Nigeria at the 4th National Housing Fair in Abuja.
Dr. Victor Onukwugha (President/Chairman Of Council, Association of Housing Corporation of Nigeria, AHCN).
Dr. Victor Onukwugha while presiding over administrative duties of AHCN, he is also the Managing Director of Bauhaus International Limited Abuja.
Rev. Ugochukwu Chime (CEO, COPEN Group)
Rev. Ugochukwu Chime is one of Africa’s most influential business leaders, a philanthropist and man of God . He is also the immediate past president of the Real Developers Association of Nigeria.
Bamidele Onalaja (CEO, Revolution Plus)
Bamidele Onalaja is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is Group Managing Direction /Chief Executive Officer of RevolutionPlus Property Group, a company with other seven subsidiaries. He is also a major donor to the Rotary Foundation, having donated over $10,000 to the foundation.
Umar Abdullahi (CEO at Cosgrove Investment Limited)
Umar Abdullahi is the Founder/CEO at Cosgrove Investment Limited and was honored by the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) with the prestigious award for Leadership in Smart Housing 2021.
Mallam Ahmed Abubakar Goringo (CEO, Viewpoint Housing Media and Producer, Housing Hub).
Mallam Ahmed Abubakar Goringo is the Chief Executive of Viewpoint Housing Media, an outfit dedicated to advocating for affordable housing and supporting stakeholders in the Nigerian built industry. He is also the Publicity Secretary of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) and the producer of Housing Hub, aired on Trust Tv.
Nurudeen Abubakar (MD, Hortigraph Limited)
Nurudeen Abubakar is the Managing Director of Hortigraph Nigeria Limited, an indigenous multi-disciplinary engineering, construction and consulting company and developers of Sanctuary Estate, Abuja.
Osilama Emmanuel Osilama (Chairman/CEO Nuel Osilama Global Investment Limited)
Osilama Emmanuel Osilama is a business man dealing on IT, solid minerals, and black gold (oil), but majoring in real estate. He is also the Chairman of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), FCT Chapter. He holds a Masters in International Business Administration, Batch 2021
Chief Andy Elerewe, Aku Bara Oha 1 Umuanya (CEO AIBEN Investments and Properties)
Andy Elewere is the founder of AIBEN Investments and Properties and also, the Vice President, North Central of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN). His firm has over 15 housing estates in Lagos, Abuja and Katsina states. Being a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife and Metropolitan School of Business and Management, United Kingdom, Elerewe is also a member of several professional bodies including the Chartered Institute of Project Managers (CIPM).
