NIESV PRESIDENT ATTENDS AFMPN 2024, ADVOCATES FOR FACILITY MANAGEMENT’S ROLE IN NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

the President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, ESV Victor Alonge, PNIVS, has attended the 2024 Conference and Exhibition of the Association of Facilities Management Practitioners of Nigeria (AFMPN) as a keynote speaker.

His address highlighted the critical role of Facilities Management (FM) in driving national economic development, especially through efficient resource allocation, asset maintenance, and management.

The President also highlighted the growing recognition of facilities management as a key contributor to asset longevity, productivity, and value sustainability. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among professional bodies, including AFMPN, to champion maintenance culture, enhance public asset management, and support economic growth.

According to him, from the beginning of a project, it is necessary to engage facility professional. He also reiterated the readiness of NIESV to work with governments and stakeholders to ensure the effective management of facilities and infrastructure, thereby contributing to Nigeria’s development.

Among other speaker at the conference include, Engr. Oluwaseun Yinka Alabi who delivered a presentation on “Building a Resilient Future and Leadership Empowerment in Facilities Management,” while Jamila Faniyi explored “The Impact of FM on Building Efficiency and Value.”

The event concluded with a robust panel discussion, where NIESV President engaged with other stakeholders on how FM can further enhance asset productivity, extend asset lifespans, and contribute to economic growth.
