The Director, Department of Development Control, TPL Mukhtar Galadima Usman was on Friday in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, honored with the CSOs Outstanding Leadership Performance Award, by the Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch In Nigeria, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
The award which is aimed at encouraging performing public office holders in office, also, is engineered towards motivating public office holders to do more in improving the Nigerian civil service.
Receiving the award, TPL Usman in appreciation, said the award is for the Department of Development Control, as it provided the platform for him to serve the Nigerian public.
“I receive this award on behalf of the Department of Development Control, Mukhtar said.
“Without the organization, I won’t be here serving today. It gave me the platform, the opportunity to work with the staff under my jurisdiction in uplifting standards in the Nigerian built industry.
“This award will only motivate me and the whole agency to do more and not to relent on our oars, Mukhtar added.
Presenting the award, the non-governmental organization said the award aimed at transparency and accountability which it said has strengthened the institution to perform maximumly.
“To us as a conscience organization, it is a spirited honor deserving of a worthy character in the person of TPL Mukhtar Galadima Usman, with transparent and accountable leadership which strengthens institutions to perform maximally, bringing to bear a transformative and purposeful, which earned TPL. Usman the nomination and endorsement of Civil Society Organisations in Nigeria, the NGO said.
“A warm profound felicitation for a worthy recipient of CSOs’ Outstanding Leadership Performance Award, to whom we are all present to celebrate a man of impeccable character and repute, a seasoned administrator per excellence, a transformer, a trail blazer and a humble personality, deserving of CSOs’ Outstanding Leadership Performing Award”, it added.
