The chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr Adeyemi last week said that the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) is the “starting point” of NSE and equally appreciated the institute for support towards the NSE.
Adeyemi also described NBRRI as a home for engineers in the country.
He made this disclosure while leading a delegate to NBRRI’s National Laboratory Complex (NLC), Ota, Ogun state.
Engr. Adeyemi while also speaking on high cost of building materials in the country, lamented the hardship it has had on the Nigerian populace, adding that drastic measures need to be taken to stop the hardship.
He stated that a strong collaboration needs to be reached between NBRRI and the society on ways of ensuring that both bodies work cooperatively.
He further stated that it is important that the NSE visited NBRRI to witness some of the innovations carried out by the institute and ensure ways whereby, the NSE could be involved in ensuring that NBRRI’s products are known and marketed globally as it believed that it would lead to the reduction the high cost of building in the country.
