Kano PDP gov’ship campaign office set ablaze

Hoodlums, yesterday, set ablaze a campaign office belonging to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The office was located at No. 36 Chiranchi Quarters in Gwale Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by spokesman of the gubernatorial candidate, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the office was attacked by 60 thugs allegedly led by Junaidu Abdulhamid, a personal assistant to the State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, and Habibu Dandayis, a diehard supporter of the party chairman.

The statement said during the attack, the thugs also vandalised a Volkswagen Golf – III car with registration number NSR 237 AE.

The gubernatorial candidate called on the police and other security agencies to, as a matter of urgency, investigate the matter with a view to bringing the culprits to justice.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Abdullahi Kiyawa, said police had so far not received any report on the incident.

The APC was also yet to speak on the matter at the time of filing this report. Daily Trust
