The building of a 5.5-kilometer road connecting the Tudun Biri hamlet in Igabi LGA with the Kaduna International Airport has been officially launched by Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State.

The initiative came about as a result of the unfortunate event that occurred on December 3, 2023, when the Nigerian Army accidently bombed the town during a Maulud celebration. The disaster claimed the lives of at least 120 people, for which the army accepted responsibility and apologised.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, Governor Sani stated that the road project would improve access for the farming community, facilitating the sales of agricultural produce.

He also inaugurated skills acquisition and Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to serve Tudun Biri and neighbouring villages affected by the military drone attack.

He said, “Two days after the unfortunate drone accident, I promised the people of Tudun Biri that by the grace of God we would improve the infrastructure of the village, build a road for them, construct a hospital, as well as a skills acquisition centre. By the grace of God, today we are here to fulfil our promise.”

Alhaji Aminu Idris, the District Head of Rigasa, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community for the governor’s fulfilment of his promise.
