Former Minister of Solid Minerals, Mines and Steel Development, Arc. Musa Mohammed Sada yesterday said that housing is more than a need for the masses in the country, saying “It’s much more than a mere building unit”.
Sada also enumerated that housing which is a very important requirement in human life, secures an environment and can be a solution to many of the problems the country is currently facing, including security, calling for more attention to, as it would provide solutions for many other things.
“Housing is more than a mere need in the country. When you look at other elements of it, it is much more than a single building unit, he said.
“It provides for neighbouring communities and secures environments. Housing in itself can be a solution to many of the problems we are currently facing, including security. If we pay good attention to our housing problems, it provides solutions to many other things.
“It is a very important requirement in a human life. Housing for all has long since been recognised as a fundamental human right, been very well established in other countries, including well developed economies in the world”, Sada added.
He appreciated the organization of the show and its convener, Barr. Festus Adebayo, describing it as “very timely” and added that it provides a very good platform for stakeholders to deliberate on the issues affecting housing development and be able to proffer solutions.
