Four Storey Building Collapses In Lagos, 10 Rescued Unhurt

A four-storey building at No. 15, Iga Idunganran in the Lagos Island neighbourhood has collapsed, trapping an unconfirmed number of people, at the time of this news report, only 10 people were pulled out of the wreckage.

Commenting on the incident, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said, it responded to distress calls, and found that a four-story residential building had fallen, this was dsclosed by Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of LASEMA, who verified the collapse.

He added that data acquired on the spot showed that the current renovations were the incident’s primary cause.

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, the building collapsed after the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) designated it for evacuation.

There are ten persons impacted in all. The ten individuals, comprising one 17-year-old girl and nine adults, have been pulled out of the debris.

The permanent secretary added that the Shark team, LRU paramedics, LASBCA officials, LNSC officials, LASPPPA officials, LASAMBUS crew,  Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service,, and Nigeria Police Force were the responders at the incident scene.
