The Ọgbọ Osisi Market, also known as the plank market, was completely destroyed by fire on Thursday at midnight at the Onitsha Head Bridge in Anambra State.
The cause of the fire was unknown at the time the complaint was filed, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).A divisional police officer led by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the public relations officer for the Anambra State Police, confirmed the occurrence and informed NAN that police personnel were making all effort to address it.
He said that some kind-hearted people were lending a hand in extinguishing the fire.
“We are doing everything we can to put out the fire, with the help of some kind-hearted people and our operatives led by the DPO.”The Fire Service has been notified in the meanwhile, and the situation is still being monitored.
