The Oyo State Fire Service, on Tuesday, said a fire outbreak was reported at No. 51, Debo Plaza, opposite Lam Adesina Junction, Felele, Ibadan, the state capital.
It said two churches and a furniture shop were affected.
This was made known in a statement by the agency’s General Manager, Yemi Akinyinka. He identified the affected churches as a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and New Covenant Church.
“Fire fighters swiftly swung into action and prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings,” he said. According to Akinyinka, the fire mostly affected plastic chairs and PVC materials used for ceiling decorations, which were completely burnt.
