The Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Senator Gbenga Ashafa has revealed that the Nigerian committed to remain supportive of private property developers for affordable housing provision for residents of the country.
He disclosed this at an agreement struck between the FHA and a Dubai based real estate company, KBC International to construct affordable housing complexes in Abuja, the Nigerian capital for US$500 million.

This alliance will confront Nigeria’s growing housing gap, predicted to have approximately 60 percent increase by 2050 because of population growth and rapid urbanization.
KBC International hopes that the Nigeria’s budget will be housing development friendly that will be accessible nationwide.

“The Federal Government is making progress towards filling the housing deficit gap in the country, Senator Ashafa, while describing the FHA as the leading housing delivery agency in Nigeria, said.
“Our organization is the most competent in terms of housing delivery in Nigeria and you won’t obtain a better deal than the one from Federal Housing authorities.
“That is the reality of the situation. We are thrilled to come across you and we would be delighted to collaborate with you”.

KBC International said the partnership is expected to be mutually beneficial, adding that while investing in housing in Nigeria, its major focus is on Africa.
“That is our mantra, and we are here to see it through, a representative of the company said.
“Our primary focus is solely on Africa.
“Concerning the housing shortage in Nigeria, it is the desire of the average citizen to own a home.
“At this point, we are in the beginning stages and have implemented the staff amendment of FHA. The considerable cooperation we have received thus far, has enabled us to commence the implementation of the low housing developments across the nation, beginning in the Warri Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory”.
The collaboration of KBC International with FHA will be instrumental in tackling Nigeria’s housing crisis, providing Nigerians with accessible and comfortable homes across the country.
