Enugu Investors Forum Plans to Construct 10,000 Housing Units

President of a group called Enugu Investors Forum (EIF), Ayobanna Ikeanumba, yesterday in Enugu, the state capital, said it looks forward to constructing at least 10,000 housing units, beginning from 2013 to next year.

“We want to assure that we will construct 10,000 affordable housing units and these housing units will be constructed in the state capital to ease the accommodation problem for the people”, Ikeanumba revealed.

“We have powerful members scattered all over the world and they have tangible investments in the state. All we will need from the state government is to show us the land that will be accessible to the people and we will do the needful.

“We are convinced that these affordable homes will go a long way to help the next governor of Enugu state”, he stated.

The Director General of the Enugu Concerned Citizens Initiative, Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Arthur Edeh, spoke of the need to partner with EIF gearing towards a sustainable economic evolution in the state.

“It’s indeed a partnership in order of a potential synergy between the government and the private sectors, in other to creating of wealth for our people, and making Enugu State an industrial hub where business thrives, he said.

“Enugu Concerned Citizens Initiative as an organization has its aim and objectives basically on creating wealth both for its members and the public in general.

“We have our membership base in all 17 Local Government Areas, and their communities, with members from various works of life, and industries.

“Wealth Creation is of course a topic in the lips of every living soul. It’s important as well as imperative to have this team investors, The Enugu Investors Forum, this to chat the way forward in the order of wealth creation.

“It’s been long believed in politics that government cannot create wealth. However, government create a political and economic climate that helps people to create wealth, for example through taxes, education, having a fair and simple system where Agriculture, Housing, mining, commerce and industry can function effectively.

“Enugu is a green field for both local and international investors to cultivate. But, the government of course, has to create the enabling environment, that would make it accessible for investments.

“This of course, is the order of our interest as Concerned Citizens to ensure in the forthcoming election/administration, that we elect a more competent, experienced and intelligent leader who has the capacity to provide the environment that would help to facilitate economic development, evolution, and empowerment for Ndi Enugu”, he concluded.
