El-Rufai, Fatimilehin, Late Jakande and Late Abubakar Top List of Expected Inductees For 2022 Affordable Housing Hall Of Fame

The Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN), has finalized plans to unveil the affordable housing hall of fame 2022, to honour those who have made significant impact in the provision of affordable housing for Nigerians.


Its Executive Director, Festus Adebayo said the event is set to honour other Nigerians whose indelible marks left have continued to inspire millions of persons across and beyond the country because, ‘their significant contributions’ has led to the development of the nation’s built sector.

The present Kaduna State Governor and Former FCT Minister, El – Rufai, Gbenga Fatimilehin and the founder of Imani Group, the late Abdu Abubakar top list of those to be inducted into the Affordable Housing Hall Of Fame 2022.

Adebayo said others include the former Nigerian Vice President, Alex Ekeueme, former civilian governor of Lagos State, Late Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, Late Professor Akin Mabogunje, Late Engineer S.O. Fadahunsi, and the former presidents of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors, Late Sir Fortune Ebie were among those who were posthumously inducted in 2021 for their priceless contributions to the delivery of affordable housing in Nigeria.

Affordable Housing Hall of Fame

Adebayo who is also the Convener of the annual Africa Housing International Show (AHIS) added that the hall of fame as a platform is aimed at honouring those who fought and still fighting for the growth of affordable housing in the country.

“The idea behind this event is to encourage more people, either as a state governor, as a president, as minister to do more in the area of affordable housing delivery, he said.

“It’s another moment to celebrate our heroes of affordable housing for the next generation to know those who have really worked for affordable housing in the country. Nigeria is not the only country to achieve this feat, countries like the USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia had at various times celebrated their heroes of affordable housing.”

The 2022 edition of the Hall of Fame is billed to take place during the Africa Housing Awards, slated for Thursday 15 December, 2022 at the International Conference Center, Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
