The Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, on Women Affairs, Hon. Asmau Gogo Kabir recently on a visit to the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, said that creating an enabling environment for women and girls to fit into the society through learning of skills and trades, in order to be self-reliant in the society is paramount to building a nation.
She led a delegate of notable women from various organizations and NGOs from Kogi state to the Director General of NBRRI, Engr. Prof. Samson Duna.
She also explained that the women in Kogi State and the country in general are not fully utilized when it comes to craft and artisanal works.
“Building the nation in a very significant way is my utmost priority, Hon. Gogo Kabir stated.
“This I intend doing by creating an enabling environment for our women and girls to fit into the society through learning of skills and trades so as to be self-reliant in the society”, she added.
She appreciated the Director-General/CEO of NBRRI for accommodating their request for the visit.
