Abuja – January 13, 2024 – Viewpoint Housing News.

The Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway would be completed in 24 months, according to Senator David Umahi, Minister of Works.
The minister made the remark during an assessment of the Abuja-Kaduna portion of the highway on friday.
Umahi, accompanied by Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Economy, stated that the government came to a decision with Julius Berger Construction Company, the road’s contractor, to create the revised schedule.

Remember how the minister had said the road would be finished this year?
This came after Muhammadu Buhari’s previous administration failed to deliver on a contract it had awarded in 2018 with a 36-month completion period.

The road that was supposed to be finished continued until the end of the administration, with just the three sections—Kaduna to Zaria—completed.

During the inspection, Umahi gave a speech in which he blamed the lack of funding for the delay but guaranteed that the government will finish the road on schedule.

According to him, Julius Berger committed to running 15 km daily since the new date had been set.
