The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) has significantly  impacted the Jos educational  system, as a block of  classrooms  at LEA Primary  School Birwa, which is situated in the Namaran District of the Kanam Local Government Area (LGA), Dengi, was formally commissioned and handed over by NBRRI in a solemn ceremony.

This remarkable initiative by NBRRI demonstrates the Institute’s dedication to enhancing the facilities and infrastructure in educational institutions across the nation.

Prominent representatives of the government, local authorities, and other education stakeholders graced the occasion.

NBRRI’s Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Samson Duna expressed his delight in being a part of the project and spoke about the Institute’s vision to support the educational development of the nation.

He emphasized the importance of providing a conducive learning environment for children, stating that it is crucial for their growth and development.
The newly commissioned block of classrooms consists of three spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, equipped with modern facilities, including whiteboards, chairs, and desks, to enhance the learning experience of the students.

The headmistress of LEA Primary School Birwa, Mrs. Rebecca Joshua, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the school and community.

She mentioned that before the intervention of NBRRI, the school was facing a severe shortage of classrooms, and students had to cram into small, overcrowded spaces.

The new block of classrooms has not only increased the school’s capacity, but it has also improved the overall learning environment for the students.

The impact of NBRRI’s efforts goes beyond just the physical infrastructure. This will undoubtedly enhance the quality of education provided at LEA Primary School Birwa and help the students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Furthermore, NBRRI’s intervention will have a positive ripple effect on the community. With better facilities, the school is expected to attract more students, leading to an increase in enrollment and a reduction in the number of out-of-school children. This will ultimately contribute to the development of the community and the nation as a whole.

This is not the first time NBRRI has undertaken such a noble initiative. In the past, the Institute has commissioned and handed over blocks of classrooms, libraries, and other educational facilities to different schools across the country, including the North-East region. This is a clear indication of NBRRI’s dedication to supporting the government’s efforts to provide quality education for all.
