All is now set for the unveiling of the first composite marble ever produced in Africa.

The composite marble popularly called Royal Marble is produced by Royal Engineered Stones Ltd, a group company of West African Ceramics Limited (WACL).

The company’s composite plant is located in Ajaokuta, Kogi state.

The Marketing Manager of WACL, Mr Shakti Mohanty told Viewpoint Housing News in Abuja that the launch of the new world class product is on Nov. 22, 2018 at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

According to Mohanty, “Nov 22 event is about the launch of royal engineered stones.”

He explained that composite marbles are engineered stones which are stronger and more durable than the natural marble.

“And they’re easily available since they’re produced in Nigeria right now. We’re using plant size of 4,500sqm per day.

“This is first phase. Second phase, we’re coming up natural granite…six months down the line…we’ll be producing quartz stones which will come up in 2020,” the manager said.

He said with the new product, engineers and architects now have more beautiful range of products to finish their work with and are available at very reasonable cost in the market.

He said, “If you go to the market, you ask for granite and marble, they’ll not sell it below N22,000-N25,000 per square meter. But here, you can get it at a much lesser price.”

The ceremony which carries the theme Harnessing Marbles for Value Creation in the Built Environment is to be graced by the Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Mr Abubakar Bawa Bwari; President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Adetokunbo Kayode; and Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture, Mr Olusegun Runsewe.
