Abuja’s Banex Plaza, a shopping  mall for electronics and telecoms devices, has been shut down by soldiers for three days now,

The trouble began when some soldiers in the plaza got into a small argument with a trader, and  thugs were invited to beat them up.
According to reports, the vendor sold a faulty phone to a customer who invited soldiers. Instead of settling the dispute peacefully, the trader allegedly invited thugs who beat the uniformed men.

They rained down blows on at least two soldiers and another man wearing a mufti. The soldiers were kicked, slapped, and brutally beaten by the thugs who broke into groups.

A few traders who had gathered near the plaza were seen leaving, after waiting for hours, they  were overheard  complaining about  the financial  consequences  of closing the plaza on a significant day like Monday.

Social media users shared videos showing soldiers assaulting some individuals and chasing after a group of people
at the plaza, while some military vans positioned in various locations.
