The President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, (NIESV), ESV Victor Alonge recently led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Dr. Armstrong Takang, in Abuja.

During the visit, Victor Alonge emphasized the critical role of MOFI in managing the Federal Government’s investment interests and assets, a role pivotal to Nigeria’s economic development. He expressed NIESV’s readiness to partner with MOFI in areas such as asset valuation, management, and advisory services, aiming to optimize the nation’s assets and support economic recovery efforts.

Dr. Armstrong Takang appreciated the NIESV President and his team for reaching out, noting that NIESV’s mission aligns closely with MOFI’s mandate of establishing the worth of government-owned assets. He expressed his commitment to working closely with NIESV, recognizing the significant professional opportunities available in identifying and valuing government properties across the country.

Dr. Takang also assured of MOFI’s full partnership in NIESV’s 2025 Conference, viewing it as a platform to showcase the collaboration between both institutions. He welcomed the idea of MOFI contributing to the content of the conference, with plans for his team to work with NIESV on this.

In a gesture of goodwill, Alonge presented copies of the Green Book to Dr. Takang, with a promise to provide more copies for MOFI’s principal officers. He also proposed a retreat for NIESV firms selected for MOFI projects to ensure compliance with standards and uniformity, a suggestion Dr. Takang warmly welcomed.

The visit concluded with both parties expressing optimism about the potential of their partnership to contribute significantly to the nation’s economic growth.
