Dr. Lami Onayi Ahmed (FNIM), was born in Idoma Village, of Okengwe district in Kogi State. She is a quintessential businesswoman with over 36 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Dr. Lami Onayi Ahmed is a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management. She holds a Higher National Diploma in Marketing from Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin and three Masters Degrees in Managerial Psychology, Business Administration, and Social Works from the University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, and Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho, respectively.
Dr. Ahmed is a seasoned administrator, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a volunteer. She is the MD/CEO of Chrisanbeth Investments limited, Taches Nigeria limited and Utopia baths & kitchen. She is a Dealer in one of the outstanding Gas filling stations in Abuja.
As a philanthropist, Dr Ahmed founded the Lift Up Care Foundation in 2006, a non-governmental organization with consultative status with the United Nations, which has collaborated with world-class funders to impact the lives of citizens. Additionally, she is a volunteer with the Lions Clubs International, a 107-year-old charity organization, where she rose to the number one position in the country as the Multiple Council Chairperson.
Dr. Lami Ahmed has been recognized as a strategic thinker and a team builder with great interpersonal and team-building abilities. She is quite informed about the decision-making process in the oil and gas industry and top leadership dynamics. With over 36 years of experience in the oil and gas business, Dr Ahmed is well-known for her expertise in the downstream sector. Prior to starting her own businesses, she had held high level positions as a member of staff with the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company (NOLCHEM) PLC, and Conoil Plc.
Dr. Lami Onayi Ahmed, has served as a Director on the board of NNPC Limited. She has attended several courses and capacity development in Oil and Gas and Board management at different seminars and forum across several countries and institutions, including courses at the prestigious 1ESE/HARVARD Business school
Dr. Lami Onayi Ahmed is an award-winning businesswoman, peace ambassador, and Millennium Development Goal (MDG) ambassador who has received numerous awards for her works and her contributions to the empowerment of humanity which earned her the Northern Nigeria Women of Merit Award as well as the Lions Clubs International President’s Award. She is the grand matron of Ebira Opete One Big Family Foundation.
She founded the Ebira Sheroes Association International with other eminent ladies as a medium to give back to the community.
In recognition of her exceptional leadership, management skills, significant contributions to human capital development and commitment to corporate social responsibility, Lami Ahmed was awarded Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) in Public Administration by the London Bridge Business School/ African Institute of Public administration and Degree award (honoris causa) Doctor of Business Administration by the Highstone Global University Texas USA.
Dr. Ahmed is a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management, A fellow of the African Business School, a Fellow of the institute of Professional Entrepreneurs and Strategic Administrators of Nigeria and Member Chartered institute of Development Studies and Administration of Nigeria, member Institute for Social Work & Geriatric Studies. She has also taken courses in dispute resolution and basic conflict management.
Dr. Lami Ahmed is a member of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) with a vest experience in property sector, and a strong record of initiating well executed real estate projects. She had served as the National organizing secretary and currently serving as the national financial secretary of the association. She is also a member of the building materials producers’ association of Nigeran (BUMPAN).
Additionally, she served on the Board of the Leprosy Mission Nigeria (TLM), and she is the current Chairman of the Nigeria America Chamber of Commerce FCT Chapter.
She is a lover of sport. As a great golfer, she is a past Lady Captain of IBB international golf and Country Club and the current 1st Vice President of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN).
On the home front, Dr. Lami Onayi Ahmed is happily married for the past 39 years to her guardian Angel Mr. Thomas Omuya Ahmed. She is blessed with several Children and grandchildren.
