Residents of the Blabiri district in Michika local government are suffering from the terrible consequences of floods, which has left a trail of ruin in its wake, as the rainy season intensifies.

Numerous individuals are in hardship as a result of the deluge, which was caused by severe rains in the hilly area and destroyed homes, food supplies, and livelihoods.

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa state, expressed sympathy for the victims during his inspection of the damaged areas and promised that the state government would do everything within its power to help.

He promised to look into long-term measures to lessen the effects of floods in the area and offered to support people who lost their houses and sources of livelihood.

Governor Fintiri urged residents living along the streams to relocate to safer grounds and cautioned the community to remain vigilant, as the situation could worsen at night, posing a risk to lives.

The flooding has raised concerns about the state’s preparedness to handle natural disasters, and the government’s response will be closely watched as the rainy season continues.
