– The Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Mr. Madu Hamman at the 17th edition of the 2023 Africa International Housing Show, said the critical role of data in the planning and execution of policies for national development, particularly in the housing sector cannot be ignored.
In a panel discussion on data held during the show at the International Conference Center, Mr. Hamman highlighted the significance of reliable data in making informed decisions for housing development.

He expressed concern over the lack of empirical investigation behind much of the data available within their system, rendering it untrustworthy.
While revealing that the FMBN currently has over 5 million contributors to the National Housing Fund (NHF) Scheme, he said these encompass workers from both the private and public sectors across the nation. He also added that the bank has introduced products tailored for the informal sector too.
