The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has said that it remains committed to upholding the tenets of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2019 in its operations and provision of affordable housing services.

The MD/CE, FMBN, Mr. Madu Hamman, represented by the Executive Director, Business and Portfolio Services, Mr. Kingsley Chukwuma stated this in a recent meeting with a delegation from the Disability Advancement Initiative (DAI), an advocacy group.

Mr. Hamman while acknowledging that the FMBN maintains a robust policy of non-discrimination against persons with disabilities which includes building an inclusive work environment, incorporating ramps in office buildings and employment opportunities, also noted that as a new Management, the Bank would also ensure enhanced collaboration with disability advocacy groups such as DAI to ensure that eligible persons with disability benefit from housing provision and support.

The law prohibits discrimination against persons living with disabilities (PWDs).
