The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his delight at a handover ceremony of a Staff Affordable Housing Estate, Karshi, a project he described as a “bold step” of his administration.

While assuring the people that modalities have been put in place to guarantee accessibility and affordability to deserving beneficiaries, he added that layouts have been identified for affordable housing provision in all the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He made this known in an occasion marking the country’s 61st independence day celebrations.
“I am very pleased to perform the groundbreaking ceremony and official site handover of Muhammadu Buhari Staff Affordable Housing Estate in Karshi, he said.
“The project was a bold step by this administration towards addressing the deficit in the housing sector, especially among civil servants.
“I am assuring members of staff that modalities has been put in place to guarantee accessibility and affordability to deserving beneficiaries, including funding and repayment arrangements with primary mortgage institutions.

“Layouts has been identified for affordable housing provision in all the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory, while development plans had been prepared for the layouts and prototype designs have been produced for various housing types, the president concluded.
