Enugu – September 13 – Viewpoint Housing News – The Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has revealed his administration set up plans to build 20,000 housing units with modern facilities for civil servants in the state within the next one year.

The governor made this known as the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Non-Remittance to the National Housing Fund (NHF) and Utilisation of the Funds, led by its Chairman, Dachung Bagos, commended him for his efforts in ensuring that the state government is up to date in terms of compliance and remittance to the NHF.

While receiving members of the committee who were on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Enugu, yesterday, the governor said his government is passionate about prioritising the welfare of workers in the state through various incentives, which include the planned 20,000 mass housing scheme.

Mbah, who said the state has been playing major roles in the growth and development of the country, added that under his government, the state would continue to meet up with its financial commitment for the well-being of the people.

He said: “We will not only remit the 2.5 per cent to the NHF, we will also engage the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria for mass housing.

“We have allocated a large expanse of land for the mass housing project, where 20,000 housing units would be constructed for our workers.
